Seeing Xiaomi's success with their headphone lineup, Chinese counterpart Meizu is mulling to step on the gas pedal. As per reports coming from China Meizu is allegedly working on a premium over-the-head headphone to take on the Mi Headphones.
Xiaomi's Piston range of earphones have become rather popular worldwide thanks to its premium build quality backed by top notch audio performance at a budget price. However Meizu isn't aiming to compete with Xiaomi in budget in-earphone department though (at least as of now). Instead Meizu is reported to be working on a premium headphone targeted towards the audiophiles.
According to a report the Meizu Headphones will come with a metal build - including a metal band and a metal main body. Inside the metal body the Meizu Headphones is reported to house a bio-fibre diaphragm for improved vocal characteristics.
Going by the images leaked in China it won't be unjust to state that the Meizu Headphone is quite a looker. The images further reveal that the headphone will launch in two color variants - black and white. Do note that these won't be the first over-the-ear headphones launched by the company. Previously Meizu had launched a premium over the year headphone in collaboration with BeyerDyanamic at 3699 Yuan alongside the Meizu MX5.
The upcoming Meizu Headphones are reported to be priced at 499 Yuan (Rs 5,000 approx.) and will be launched later today in China.
