Apple iOS 8.1 update for compatible iOS devices is confirmed to hit later today, and it's going to deliver number of improvements.
The update is likely to roll out in India around 10:30 p.m. However, the company did not confirm exact timing of roll out. Apple iOS 8.1 update includes Apple Pay, the return of the camera roll, besides the iCloud Photo feature.
iOS 8.1 isn't going to be huge as iOS 8.0 but it's going to offer number of requested features. Most importantly, the new update might bring relief to number of iPhone and iPad owners.

Continuity
Finally, Continuity lets you easily switch between your iPhone, iPad and Mac or use them together. As of now, several new Continuity features have been made available Apple launched the Yosemite OS for Macs last week. But some features, for instance, support for SMS, require you to download iOS 8 update. Some of the highlighted features include: Phone Calling, Instant Hotspot, Handoff and SMS from any device.
iCloud Photo Library
With iOS 8.1 update, the iCloud Photo Library allows users to save pictures and videos to their iCloud account. You can access your iCloud Photo library through any iOS device or even Mac for that matter. The basic idea is that iCloud will keep all of the media/content and then make it available on any device that's signed into that account.
Apple Pay
Apple Pay is a mobile payment solution that let users to pay for goods/services using their iOS device. To use Apple Pay feature, you must have the NFC-enabled device. As of now, Apple Pay will work on the following devices: iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Air 2, iPad Mini 3 and the Apple Watch. Basically, Apple Pay is a solution to replace credit and debit cards. If you an older iOS device, for instance, Apple iPhone 5S or the iPad Air, then you will not be able to use Apple Pay, until unless you have an access to the Apple Watch.
Camera Roll
The Camera Roll will be making a re-entry with the iOS 8.1 update. If you recall, when Apple launched iOS 8, they replaced the Camera Roll with a section called "Recently Added". The "Recently Added" section includes photos and videos that were taken last month. Since users are badly demanding Apple to bring back the Camera Roll feature, the company can't afford to ignore its core audience.
Bugs Fixes
Last but not the least, Apple will fix several bugs and errors with iOS 8.1 update. iPhone and iPad users had faced several problems when they updated their respective devices to iOS 8. As reported in the past, one of the bug fixes will be for an issue that makes it hard for iOS 8 users to pair with Bluetooth devices.
