Asus PadFone 2: Next Generation Hybrid Device Gets Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Upgrade

Asus's update a few months ago on Padfone 2 being upgraded to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean very soon is on floors, as the company has begun aggressively promoting the Android 4.1.1 for its new handset. Unfortunately though, not all Padfone 2 users will get it at the same time. This is because the update is more likely to be rolled out over the air in stages.

After users have successfully installed the update for Android 4.1.1, a whole lot of new features such as Google Now and other expandable notifications can be accessed. These would be of immense use with information cards on things like sports scores, your favourite games, updates on the weather, and also the traffic scenario.

For folks in the U.S who expected Asus to come up with their new PadFone 2 addition, there has been no word yet from the company on when or if the PadFone 2 will see an official release in the U.S. But if the users have been thinking about importing a unit to beat the launching date, they can know for sure that the latest Jelly Bean update was released for the device.

But at the same time, the users should ensure that their battery is charged to full capacity before upgrading to Jelly Bean. This is because the update would take around 15-30 minutes to flash having a build number JRO03L 10.4.5.33-0. It is expected that Asus will deliver the Jelly Bean update for Padfone 2 world over in the comings weeks, although now it is currently available only in Taiwan.
