Live Lock Screen Beta App Launches for Windows Phone Users
Last week, Windows Phone's Joe Belfiore sent out a tweet, inviting those with Windows Phone 8.1 to download the Live Lock Screen beta app. Now the beta version of the app is already up for download for free via Windows Phone App Store.
With the app you can choose from six different layouts to customize the lock screen. Time, date and notifications have a new design and different lockscreen animation as well. Moreover, the application also provides users with the possibility to cycle through multiple background images over the course of the day, which will keep their lock screen fresh. There is also the option to get the latest image from Bing each day.

The app was first time mentioned at the Microsoft Build 2014 event back in April. Thus, the availability of this application should make a lot of Windows phone users really happy.

Additionally, when it was initially said to come, Microsoft had said that it would only run on handsets with 1GB of RAM or more. But that also seems to have changed as Microsoft has been able to tweak the software in a way that it supports Windows Phone 8.1 powered handsets with 512MB of RAM. So Nokia Lumia 520, the most popular Windows Phone model of all time, users will also get to use the new application.
According to the app store description, "Want to truly personalize your lock screen? Live lock screen lets you choose from 6 new lock screen layouts to add a distinctive touch to your Windows Phone. Each layout has a revamped design for the time, date, and notifications, as well as a unique unlock animation. You can also cycle through multiple background images throughout the day to keep your lock screen fresh-or just get the latest incredible image from Bing every morning."
You can download the app from here.
