Microsoft Releases Switch to Windows Phone Android App: Quite Thoughtful
If you are planning on switching from an Android to Windows Phone device and looking for a convenient way to migrate your app experiences over, Microsoft has released a new app called Switch to Windows Phone on Google play, which can scan your smartphone for all the installed android apps and tell if they are available on Windows Phone.
You can save your results and use them to install the apps when you switch over to your new Windows Phone.
Windows Phone has quite a bit of catching up to do in terms of app count compared to Android. The new app should give users a clearer perceptive on what is available on Windows Phone Store. The app however has been receiving lot of lot of bad reviews from users, saying it showing inaccurate results. The app has received a poor average rating of 1.4.
A few people are questioning the brand image of Microsoft, as a result of the app. The tech giant sure does need to roll out a new update to make the app more accurate, at least for the sake of damage control.
Meanwhile, if you have a desire to make your android smartphone to appear like Windows Phone 8 one, you can use the Launcher8 app which gives a Windows Phone 8 layout to your smartphone. The app is available for download at Google play.
