The Redmond giant, Microsoft has launched the Office 2016 and also announced the availability world wide yesterday. Basically, Microsoft Office is an office suite applications for servers and service, which contains like of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
This Microsoft Office is available in desktop, Mac and Smartphone across all platforms. Being one of oldest suite applications, it is still going strong with couple of competitors. Lets have a look at some of its features:
Real-time co-authoring: With this release, it lets you to see what others are writing immediately, as it happens. It is used in expanding real-time co-authoring to each of our native apps and you should expect to see more over time.
Skype for Business is now available in the client apps, allowing you to IM, screen share, talk or video chat right in your docs. Skype for Business also has faster screen sharing and now adds the option to start a real-time co-authoring session from any conversation or meeting.
Office 365 Groups allows individuals to easily create public or private teams. Each group includes a shared inbox, calendar, cloud storage for group files, and a shared OneNote notebook to keep the team productive.
Office 365 Planner helps teams organize their work, with the ability to create new plans, organize and assign tasks, set due dates and update status. Planner's visual dashboards and email notifications help keep everyone informed on the overall progress of their initiative. Planner will be available in preview, to Office 365 First Release customers, starting next quarter.
Originally unveiled earlier this year, GigJam is today available in private preview and will become part of Office 365 in 2016. GigJam is an unprecedented new way for teams to accomplish tasks and transform business processes by breaking down the barriers between devices, apps and people.
Moving on, the new Office 2016 apps are available today in 14 languages in India and 47 languages across the world and requires Windows 7 or later.
Starting from today, Office 365 subscribers can choose to download the new Office apps as part of their subscription.
Microsoft Office 2016 is available as a one-time purchase for Windows PCs or Macs. The Office Home & Student 2016 version costs Rs. 5,999, while the Office Home and Business 2016 version is priced at Rs. 18,499 and the Office Professional 2016 is available at Rs. 30,999 in India.
