Video calls
Free text and photo messages
Group conversations
No registration, passwords or invitations required
Contacts and messages sync between your mobile and Windows

For those who are not aware, Viber actually works on OS X (AAPL) and Windows PCs and Mac (Linux coming soon) now. Also, Viber Desktop version will be able to make video calls but one can call just from desktop to desktop as of now.

The best part is that one can transfer the voice chats and message chats without a glitch and delay from PC to phone or vice versa. The direct threat towards Skype and WhatsApp can also be marked because of its cross-platform integration that allows users to have access to their messages over multiple devices.

Viber has also geared up its Android and iOS apps, while introducing support for eight new languages (reaching a total of 27). Those, interested can download the new Viber desktop app from Viber website or from iOS app store.

Reportedly, Viber Chief Executive Officer, Talmon Marco stated that Viber for desktop will pretty much work like Viber for mobile phones, with minor exceptions such as stickers.

He further added "What puts it apart from Skype is how tightly integrated it is with the mobile experience. Skype went from the desktop to the phone. Viber went from mobile to desktop-the implication for the user is amazing."
