Airtel Pocket TV App for Android Launched: iOS App Coming Soon
Taking TV watching experience one step further, the Digital TV and DTH service arm of Airtel has now launched Airtel Pocket TV mobile application. The application which is currently Android bound allows the users to stream over 150 live TV channels and watch TV programs.
The company says that it has over 10,000 hours of video content and over 13 channels on anytime TV. Airtel has also promised to bring the app for the iOS devices in the following months and other platforms soon. Moreover, the app is free and you can download it from here.
Apart from the 150 plus channels across popular genres which can be found in the app, the latest TV application from Airtel allows the users to access video library which has more than 10,000 videos. Moreover, all networks are supported by the app. It also features an adaptive streaming, which means that the video streaming bit-rate dynamically adjusts to the network bandwidth on your device.

Other features include genre based UI which filters channel by genre. There is also an option to search for the channel by simply typing in the name. Additionally users will also see a program guide, recommendation zone, favorites, social media integration (users can share the channel you are watching on Facebook) and also set alarms as a program reminders.
However, it should be noted that the it is just the app which comes free but the service charge will be incurred upon the users. Thus Airtel Pocket TV is available for an introductory pricing of just Rs. 60 per month. It is available for Android smartphones and tablets (Android version 2.1 and later). Once installed, users can activate the service by sending the SMS ADD TV to 54325 from their registered mobile number. Airtel promises an iOS app within one month followed by other platforms.
