Amazon Unveils Kindle App for Windows 8 with Caption ‘Buy Once Read Everywhere’

As Microsoft unveiled Windows 8, application and devices designed for the new Windows OS have started making appearance in the market. Amazon has also moved to the Windows 8 wagon quickly launching the Kindle application for the new OS. Now users can start downloading this free app from Amazon store. They can have access to around 1.5 million books through this application and they can read these Kindle books on other e-readers like Kindle Fire or other devices like iPad and PC too. 

In the words of Dorothy Nicholls, Vice President, Amazon Kindle, “We’re thrilled that leading manufacturers have selected the Kindle ecosystem for pre-load on their new Windows 8 devices.”Talking on the occasion John Richards, senior director of Windows App Marketing for Microsoft Corp stated “Kindle’s great content ecosystem and immersive experience on Windows 8 make it a great choice for our customers around the world.”  

Along with Windows 8 compliance the new Kindle app is also coming with some additional features and functionalities. It is designed in such a way that the device will automatically sync in users last read pages, notes, bookmarks etc with their other Kindle devices. This would help you to have a continuous reading experience across your Kindle gadgets. Now users can pin their favorite books to the start screen so that they can read them instantly once the device is switched on.

There are also options to search books and titles across Kindle library as well as to share favorite books and passages with friends and other apps. The new Kindle application will be made available in multiple languages like French, German, English, Spanish and Portuguese.
