Dropcam App for iPad Launched With Multi-Cam Support
Dropcam has released an application for iPad, complementing Dropcam HD, which makes it possible to stream multiple video feed at a time. It enables you to see whatever is taking place around your Dropcam camera regardless of time and place.
You can view multiple streams from the Dropcam camera in your application, the one at home, or from a public or shared stream, at the same time. Thus, up to four simultaneous streams can be viewed. The application can be set up so that you receive notifications whenever something out of the ordinary happens such as when someone unplugs the camera or when there is a loud noise. At this point of time, you cannot customize this feature, which would have otherwise let you get notifications only at the time you specify.
The new application built for iPad complements Dropcam HD which was released this year. The hardware of the camera was built in-house without depending on off-the-shelf components that led to price drop significantly. The price dropped from $249 to $149 stated CEO of Dropcam, Greg Duffy.
The camera which is capable of streaming in 720p relies on Wi-Fi only since that is the popular connection used by most people when compared to Ethernet. The camera has an 80 degrees viewing angle, which can capture everything happening in a room if placed at a corner. It can also facilitate night vision and can emit sound in either direction.
The camera is very easy to use. In fact, you need to connect it to your computer only once when you set its Wi-Fi connection. After that, you have the freedom to place it anywhere you would like to start getting a video.
Download the application from Apple Store.
