In a recent update, iOS has received a major update to its Google Maps. The update allows you to quickly order food directly from Google Maps. This new food delivery option resides in the Explore menu. Currently, the service is available only in select countries.
Although the service is not yet available for Indian iPhone users, users from eligible countries can get categories like 'Best lunches' or 'Cheap eats' from the Explore Menu. For restaurants which work with major online delivery services like GrubHub or EatStreet, users can see a 'Place an order' option on the details page. Tapping on that option will redirect the user to the website allowing you to quickly place an order.
Google Maps will also show eatery information about its prices, review ratings, and the time the place will be open till. It has been over a year, this feature is been available for Android users, now iOS users finally get the chance to take advantage of it.
Apart from food ordering, Google Maps also gets some more update where users easily add photos of places from directly within the app. They can add images directly from the camera roll.
After the update, users can also easily find Plus Codes for a location by dropping a pin anywhere on the map. Plus Codes are essential identifiers for locations that don't have their own street address.
