Replace your Facebook profile pic with a video in just 5 simple steps!

With the lots of apps that we have on our phones, there is no shortage of them which help to beautify your pictures and use them for your profile pic or cover photos. Just when you thought profile pictures were enough, Facebook introduced its cool new feature of profile videos.

You read that right! In place of pictures, you can now keep even a video of yourself that keeps playing in the small square box. It also transitions itself between the pictures and video footage both on browsers as well as the apps. Here's how you can set your profile video 4 simple steps.

Step 1

You should note that the feature is currently available only for Android and iOS app and you will not be able to set it up from your browser. Head over to your profile and select the icon that you would use to change your profile picture.

Step 2

If you're a regular user, you will notice the additional options to 'Take a Profile Video'. You can use this option to record a clip right from the app.

Step 3

Once you've recorded your clip, you can review it and share it to your profile. The profile video is now visible to your friends both on the desktop and the app.

Step 4

It is also important that you set your thumbnail image for your profile pic, which will be displayed in your friend's new feed. The profile video activates only when they visit your profile directly.

If you already have a video that you wish to keep as your profile video you can follow the same steps but this time, you need to browse to your gallery.
