Whatsapp on iOS 10 Now Lets You Send Messages Through Siri: 6 Other New Features

Following the public launch of iOS 10, the Cupertino giant has tied up with third party app -- Whatsapp for the first time bringing Siri integration. This update bumps the Whatsapp version to 2.16.10 and comes with 88.4MB in size.

Besides, Siri's integration, this update bring several features including improved app sharing. In order to activate this feature, you need to grant permission for Siri. You can do this by heading on to Settings> Siri > App Support > WhatsApp, and turn the toggle button On.

With this update, users have the freedom to communicate without having to look at the phone and type the messages. Whatsapp's latest update doesn't GIF or video call support as claimed by the previous reports, but it comes with the below mentioned features.

Forward files on Multiple chats at once!

Till now, both in Android and iOS, users can't share the same file in multiple accounts! Now, the company has made it possible with the latest update, where an iOS user can forward media, files or any other messages to multiple chats simultaneously!

Hands-free messaging with Siri!

Once the update is completed, you can send a message just by summoning Siri to send WhatsApp messages or place WhatsApp calls. For Example, "Hey Siri, text XYZ on WhatsApp"!

Answer your Whatsapp call from your lock screen!

In order to attend the Whatsapp call, we need to unlock the device initially! With this update, users can answer the call right from the lock screen. This feature reduces the inconvenience for the user, forcing them to unlock the device while attending the call.

Whatsapp widget might save your time!

Instead of opening the app from app drawer, the iOS 10 update brings the widget version for Whatsapp, where users can access the chat or messages quickly. For the uninitiated, Widget is a simple application extension that is often part of a larger application already installed on the device!

Little tweaks!

Now, Whatsapp will show you the frequently contacted users, when you try to forward a message or media. However, this feature is currently available on Android too! Further, this latest iteration comes with a quick forward button on photos and videos inside chat too!

Double tap to change the camera

This new update will let you choose between the rear and front camera just by double tapping on the display.
