Google Maps for Android brings schedules for Delhi Metro, Chennai MRTS, Bangalore MTC and Kolkata Metro
There is some good news for metro dwellers! Google Maps for Android app has got updated with more information regarding the schedule of metro services in Indian metropolitan cities. The app will provide the regular travelers with schedules for Delhi Metro Rail, Chennai MRTS, Bangalore MTC and Kolkata Metro.
Google Maps already has a reputation of providing schedules for 1 million public transit stops that are spread across 500 cities across the world. The major cities covered by Google Maps include New York, Tokyo and London.
The update will make it easier for users to get the transit information about subways, bus services and train schedule within major cities of Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai.
New Features
Google has also brought in more improvements in the application layout for user convenience. Now users can open a station name and details just by a single tap. Moreover, users can also get detailed information about the schedules in a specific location by simply entering the city code or postal code.
The search giant has made it possible with the latest ‘Region Highlighting’ in which borders of the region will be highlighted up on entering the postal code or city code.
Further, all the important information regarding the location and places can be accessed from a single place with the implementation of new tabs that is located under the option ‘My Places’.
Under My Places Google has added new tabs, which helps the user access all information from a single place. And if one enables location history then one will be able to browse the places one has visited on a daily basis. All this information is updated in the Location history dashboard.
