Indo-American's New App will let You Erase SMS and Call Logs with a Shake
An Indo-American entrepreneur has developed a phone application which allows users to erase text messages and call logs with a shake of their phones. The application being referred to as Cate app has been developed by Neal Desai, a 25 year old entrepreneur based in Boston. The word Cate is an abbreviation for ‘Call and Text Eraser’. The app allows users to create an invisible log of calls and text messages.
Another notable feature of the app is that it can hide specific numbers from the contact list. When the app is activated, the screen will never indicate who has called. Moreover all private information can be deleted from the phone with just the touch of a button. The icon of the app doesn’t appear on the home screen even when it is activated. User will also need to enter a secret pass code to access the app and to use the hidden features provided by it.
Desai is looking at people involved in romantic relationships as potential users of this app. The app is being advertised with the slogan, “Love is blind, we keep it that way”. Neal Desai bought the app from a Miami police officer who actually developed the application after witnessing a friend’s divorce case.
The divorce occurred after the spouse of the person found incriminating text messages on his phone. Desai claimed that Tiger Woods who was accused of cheating his wife Elin Norgegren through phone would have been still a married man if he had used the service of Cate app. The app was launched 3 weeks ago and since then more than 10,000 people have downloaded the app. Almost 70% of downloads were made by women.
Desai added that Cate app is essentially a privacy app and as with every technology that involves privacy, there is a good side and a bad one to it. He said that the app will also find its audience among government officials, corporate businesses and lawyers. The app is available for purchase at a price tag of $4.99(approximately Rs. 265).
