Microsoft's Remote Desktop Preview App Now Updated for Windows Phone 8.1
If any of you already own a Windows Phone 8.1-powered handset, you will be no stranger to the Remote Desktop Preview App that was launched about two months ago for the platform. Now it seems there's some big news on the horizon for the app.
According to reports, Microsoft has updated it Remote Desktop Preview app for devices running on Windows Phone 8.1 with added features and functionality. Apparently, while the Remote Desktop Preview app was quite an important feature, there were a few things that were missing. And the new update aims at adding those things.
Listening to users' complaints over the months, Microsoft has released a major update that offers a host of new features and improvements that will now look to enhance the overall user experience.
With Remote Desktop Preview 8.1.1 in place, Windows Phone users will now be able to pin their frequently used Remote Desktops to their Start screen. Moreover, developers has also explained how as soon as the desktop has been pinned, it will be available on users' Start screen with the given display name.

Microsoft has also announced that the application will now support Transparent Live Tile in Windows Phone 8.1. This, apparently, is one of the most requested features. Also, another great feature is the option to use Word flow and predictive text to quickly type in the remote session.
Apart from that, the official changelog of the update also mentions the fact that Microsoft has added "the ability to pan the screen while dragging an item by either moving a finger to the edges of the screen in Mouse Pointer mode or using a second finger to interact with the pan knob in Touch mode."
