With each passing day, our lives are getting faster and faster. This had resulted in cutting down on our duration of sleep. Everyone wants a good night's sleep once they hit the bed. But do we really get one? Unfortunately no.
There's a steady increase in the number of people who are having trouble getting a good night sleep because of their smart phones that are constantly disturbing them at bedtime. Most people do not have an habit of switching off their devices or putting them on silent mode while going to bed, as they do not want to miss an important emergency call! So what's the solution? We now have one though.
Meet the Sleep Peacefully:
There a new app on the market named Sleep Peacefully which basically puts your phone in silentmode everyday at your preset regular bedtime. But that's no cool stuff as any other apps in the market can do that.
The USP of this app though lies in the fact that it sends out SMSes to anyone calling you at late hours telling them your phone is in silent mode & just incase it's an emergency, they can send across a one word SMS mentioning 'URGENT' and you will be immediately alerted. Hence you can now sleep without being disturbed by any unwanted calls or chat notifications. In the morning, the app automatically switches off the silent mode and wakes you up with a daily alarm. Cool stuff! Isn't it? The best par is that the app is absolutely free.
"Only now I realize how much my phone was disturbing my sleep. Earlier I used to wake up 5 to 10 times at night, but now my sleep is uninterrupted and I wake up only when the morning alarm rings. I feel so much more fresh & energetic in the morning" qouted Rohan, who was one of the few users of the Sleep Peaceful App.
Speaking about the app Rohan's wife Emma said, "The other night my father was urgently trying to call me while my phone was in silent, but as soon as he replied to the auto SMS saying URGENT, the Sleep Peacefully app alerted me and I spoke to him immediately. This is truly a great peace of mind as I know I will not miss any emergency call at night when my phone is in silent".
Being a student of medicine I am sure some doctors would be happy to hear about this app - would save them from attending unnecessary calls by patient at night. Nevertheless there's no word though on whether and how the app can handle our social notifications and WhatsApp messages. Personally I feel these are the things that disturb me the most during my sleep. Hope the developer of the app, Akmin Technologies will do something regarding it. Akmin has been in the software solutions market for quite some time and their clients include some of the biggest names in the telecom industry namely Vodafone, Airtel, Aircel among others.
If you feel the app meet your requirements then do feel free to download the app from www.sleeppeacefully.in. You can download it directly from the PlayStore too. As of now it's only available for Android though. With time, the developer may push it for Windows and iOS too.
