Sony's Latest Camera Update on the Xperia Z5 series offers a refreshing UI

DxO, a benchmarking site for cameras and smartphone cameras has ranked the Sony Xperia Z5 as the smartphone with the best camera.

Sony has released an update to the camera app of its Xperia Z5 Series. The new update brings out the best out of its camera, besides the new UI and a few other features.

The camera now listed on DxO was previews at IFA in Berlin and is now being progressively rolled out to the Xperia Z5 series. The new version will be available as an update to the Sony Xperia Z5, Z5 Premium or Z5 Compact. The new update is a 2.0.0 version and is sized at 8.8 MB.

The UI is more minimalist while retaining old features. Users of the Xperia Z5 series can use gestures to change the mode or any other settings in the phone. The settings menu has a slider that helps to change phone settings in a more faster way.

The existing version of the app still lacks functionality like RAW support. It is expected that the new update will bring necessary changes to the device and improve image quality and processing. The updates are being rolled out progressively, so it will take time until the new updates reach all devices in the Xperia X5 series.
