Uber ties up with MobiKwik to resume debit/ credit card payment in India
In a move to relieve customers, Uber has resumed accepting payment by credit card in India, starting today. The move has been made a year after the company had to stop accepting credit card payments due to Indian legislation.
Last year, RBI asked the company to implement two-factor authentication on its app for credit card transactions, when a cardholder is not presented physically. The company called the process cumbersome and instead shut the credit-card payment. It switched to Paytm's in-app wallet payment system to fall in line with RBI's guidelines.

Uber now seem to have taken a u-turn to restart card payment process in India. The company has now partnered with MobiKwik for its payment process to resume debit- and credit-card payments in India, by complying by the guidelines provided by RBI.
The card payment support is available for Uber app users on Android platform as of now. The company, however, has promised to bring the card payment compatibility to iOS in the coming weeks.
