If you are the kind of people who are always texting or keeping up with your social page every single second on your Android phone, you will be no stranger to the massively popular Swiftkey keyboard app. Now there's big news for all of you currently based on the app. Switfkey has been made free for all.
The massively popular and extensively used app, which has been one of the best-selling paid apps in Google Play since its launch in 2012, was previously carrying a price tag in front it. Happily enough, the price tag exists no more.
With the app going free for all, in the newest version of the app, SwiftKey has added emoji to its predictive keyboard. And this means that it will make emoji-based suggestions based on what it learns from the user's regular use. The keyboard also offers over 800 emoji to choose from, so you will never run out of emoji ideas.
"We can now engage much more with the requests that we get and build out all this great content," Joe Braidwood, the company's chief marketing officer, told Mashable. "This has been one of the biggest requests for the longest time: 'I love your core technology, but I want to change this thing about the keyboard.' Having the SwiftKey store inside of the app allows us to do that."
The app has also added 30 new themes, which include both free and paid options. Users can now purchase packs of themes, and those who have already invested on the app will automatically get the "Premier Pack" of 10 themes when they download the new update.
Swiftkey has made changes and thanked all its dedicated customers in a note that reads: "To thank our users who have paid for SwiftKey Keyboard in the past, we're offering you a Premier Pack of 10 new premium themes to download, worth $4.99, for free!"
"All users, including newcomers, can download an additional three free themes from the store, and there's more content coming soon."
