Skype For Windows Phone 8 Update Adds People Hub Integration and HD Video Support

Skype for Windows Phone 8 has just got updated. Users can now chat with with their contacts in HD video.

 

High end phones Windows Phone 8 such as Nokia Lumia 920, HTC Windows Phone 8X, and Samsung Ativ S can now support 720P HD video calling. Also, The video quality for lower-end phones has also been improved, as the app, now supports VGA video.

Skype will now automatically set your video quality, based on the speed of your internet connection. So, you don't have to worry about, setting up video quality settings, anymore.

What's more? You can now toggle between portrait and landscape mode while making calls. You can also switch between the front and back cameras, for making calls.

The People Hub on Windows Phone 8 will now show Skype contacts, which means, users can now call their Skype contacts, directly from the People Hub, rather then having to kick start the Skype application.

More over, Skype will now allow you to switch between different user accounts with a simple tap on the profile picture. This specific feature is said to be implemented as a response to user feedback received by Skype.

Apart from these new features, a number of bugs have been fixed.

Some users complained about having issues with receiving notifications. The bug which caused this problem has been fixed.

The bug which caused some messenger contacts to not show online has also been fixed.

Finally, the bug which caused The People Hub to not list Skype contacts, has been fixed.
