Windows Phone 7 Connector App Updated: Microsoft Confirms WP8 Support for Mac

Windows Phone 7 connector app for Mac is now rebranded as ‘Windows Phone’ app. A host of new features have been included in it. The new app can be downloaded for free from the Mac App Store. 

The app is a mandatory requirement for syncing data between a Mac and a Windows Phone. The app can be downloaded from here. Users can sync data such as photos and videos that is stored on their Windows Phone with the Mac computer. The app has the reputation of having a simpler and easier-to-use interface that has been designed for syncing favourite media files from Mac with Windows Phone. 

The key updates with the latest version of Windows Phone app dubbed Windows Phone 3.0 includes support for the newly announced Windows Phone 8 devices. The new app version also provides users with the ability to drag and drop files between Windows Phone and Mac Desktop. The files can also be dragged and dropped from Finder towards Windows Phone 8 devices.

The new app version will also support iPhoto 9.3.2 and Aperture 3.3.2. For Windows Phone 8 devices specifically, the updated Windows Phone app provides support for knowing the battery charge state along with improved capability support for the ringtone files. The app also extends support for the Retina Display Macs. 

With Windows Phone app, users will be able to sync music and movies from their existing iTunes Library towards the devices. The app also allows the photos and videos to be synced from iPhoto or Aperture Library to the user’s devices. The images and videos that have been captured with Windows Phone can also be retrieved and imported automatically towards the existing iPhoto or Aperture Library. All kind of media files can be browsed and previewed using this app.
