The leaked specs are quite impressive. Touch features will be another highlight of this upcoming camera from Canon.
From the initial pictures available from online sources, it seems that Canon EOS M features a hot shoe which attaches an additional flash, and it seems that there is no inbuilt flash with this camera. The camera will normally work in an ISO range of 100-12800 and seems to be extendable up to 25600 adding to the picture quality. The shutter speed of the camera is expected to be around 30 to 1/4000 supported with a bulb option. It will even feature a continuous shooting speed of up to 4.3fps.
Contrast and also phase AF are expected to be included in the camera system in addition to touch focusing. The rear side of the camera features a touch-display of 3-inch with 1040k-dot resolution for better image viewing options. Video capturing mode is also offered with this camera with 1920 x 1080/30p. The camera comes with some advanced video shooting features like support for multiple shooting modes with creative filters, HDR, and also a night mode.
Canon EOS M comes with a three-position dial which helps in easy switching among auto, still and video capture. The rear side of the camera features the typical Canon buttons, a four way controller along with a central button for quick menu access. The camera weighs 298g and measures 32.3 x 66.5 x 108.6mm. As with the leaked specs, the camera comes with EF-M 22mm and 18-55mm lens.
Thos APS-C compact system camera from Canon is expected to be a strong rival for Sony NEX models if the leaked specs are true. We can expect justifiable price tag for this up coming Canon EOS M like most of the Canon models.
