Canon, one of the reputed majors in the manufacturing of high quality cameras is all set to arrive with two mirror-less cameras. There have been rumours about this device for a long time, but now the sources confirm that the release of such a device from Canon seems to be round the corner. The device is set to make use of the similar sensor size as that of Canon G1 X.
To give more enthusiasm for the wait, sources have confirmed that there will be a release of two mirror-less models rather than one. One of the model is expected to come with a 14 mega pixel version where as the other model is expected to come with a 24 mega pixel higher resolution option. This has given a glimpse of what could be one of the first higher resolution models since none of the existing Canon DSLR cameras can offer this resolution.

Other expected key features that is about to come with the camera include the presence of three to five lenses. It has to be noted that new lens will not be the standard Canon EF mount; instead it will be just be compatible with the EF-Lens. The mirror less system will have to be kept open for getting greater benefit from the canon glass since the expected cameras are not going to come with any mirror in the path of the deep-mounted lenses.
There has been no official information regarding Canon about the detailed features as well as specifications that can be expected from the upcoming devices. But it is expected that 2012 is going to be the year in which they will be launching the mirror less cameras to the international market. There ahs been no information yet about the design features as per the sources.
The extent to which users will accept this device remains to be seen once the products are launched officially. Canon will also have to go ahead with these kinds of innovative devices since the company is already seeing intense competition from the camera manufacturing companies across the world like Samsung and Nikon. So to stand out of them, Canon will have to develop some unique devices such as the mirror less cameras to compete and differentiate in the market.
