Fujifilm announces lens roadmap for X-PRO 1 camera
Fujifilm has published roadmap highlighting the upcoming lenses for its popular X-PRO 1 camera for next few years. The X-PRO 1 camera owners can feel good as the company has made it clear about their long term commitment to this successful camera model. Users have a golden opportunity to choose among 7 new upcoming lenses. These lenses will be made available before the end of 2013.
When retro Fujifilm X-Pro1 was launched at CES, 3 prime lenses including a 35mm f/1.4, 18mm f/2, and 60mm f/2.4 Macro were offered. As of now, owners are really impressed with this giant selection of lenses offered by the company.
The first two of the 7 lenses will launch shortly. The 14mm f/2.8 with an ultra wide angle which looks compact is the first among them. The 18-55mm f/2.8-4 optic is the second lens which is the first zoom lens for this camera with image stabilization. It comes with similar field of view just like the standard 18-55mm kit lens that arrives with normal entry-level D-SLR cameras.
The next two lenses 23mm f/1.4 and 27mm f/2.8 arrive as early as beginning of 2013. Both looks close considering the focal length but is easily distinguishable with size and speed. The faster 23mm f/1.4 lens is said to duplicate the same classic field of view as with the 35mmlens. The fast f/1.4 aperture is the key element of this lens. The 27mm f/2.8 is somewhere closer to the same field of view as with the 40mm lens. The compact design of this lens will surely match with the camera’s sleek design.
The 56mm f/1.4 lens, which is said to ship somewhere around the same time, is expected to be ideal for portraiture. The 55-200mm f/3.5-4.8 lens features image stabilization that helps users to bring the objects to closer focus. The 10-24mm f/4 lens is expected to bring in an exclusive wide angle perspective to taking photos with X-PRO 1. These zooming lenses are said to reach the market by 2013.
The pricing information of these upcoming 7 lenses from Fujifilm for X-PRO 1 camera is yet to be revealed. The camera owners are hoping that these new lenses will reach the market without much delay as per the roadmap announced by the company.
