Fujifilm launches XS1 superzoom camera in India

Fujifilm India which is a subsidiary of the parent company Fujifilm Holding Corporation which is based on Japan, has recently announced their latest addition to the X series of digital cameras. This camera was showcased during the Photo fair exhibition held in Mumbai during the beginning of this month. The camera is termed as X-S1 and it is a premium quality long zoom camera. This is the third model in the X-series of cameras.

Features and specifications of Fujifilm X-S1:

12 megapixel 2/3 inch EXR-CMOS sensor

FUJINON 26x optical precision zoom lens

Super Macro mode

Full HD 1080p video recording at 30 frames per second

High speed continuous shooting function

The camera follows the conventional camera design philosophy. It has all the looks of a DSLR camera but is more sleek and compact than the same. The body is black in colour with patterned front portion. The device is very ergonomic and allows the user to take very tricky shots.

The CMOS sensor in the camera is 12 mega pixel 2/3 inch EXR-CMOS sensor which is the same used in Fujifilm X10 camera. Its superior zooming capability is obtained by combining this ultra-efficient image sensor with FUJINON 26x optical precision lens. The combined effect of these two incredible devices produces very high quality sharp images. The Lens is made up of 17 glass elements. These elements include four elements and two ED lenses.

This allows the reproduction of images with superior quality than the conventional lens systems. This lens can be used to shoot landscapes that are particularly wide and also subjects in close up. Users can capture images as close as 1cm for frame filling close up images by using the Super Macro mode. The lens aperture is comprised of nine blades.

This camera carries on the Fujifilm X-series legacy of creating new bench marks in standard and quality of images. This camera can also be used to record high definition videos. Full definition 1080p videos can be recorded with stereo sound at a speed of about 30 frames per second.

The recorded video files are saved in H.264 format. The continuous shooting function in the camera lets you shoot images with 12 megapixel clarity and at a speed of 7 frames per second or with 6 mega pixel clarity at 10 frames per second.

Fujifilm launches XS1 super zoom camera price tag in India is not yet announced but can be expected to be priced below the premium DSLR cameras price range.
