Nikon India has launched its new D5200 D-SLR camera for Rs. 46,950.The new camera features Nikon’s new DX-format CMOS sensor which has a pixel count of 24.1 million.
Nikon representatives mentioned that the camera incorporates enhanced optical technologies. Optimized EXPEED 3 image processing engine is a highlight of this new product. This engine is based on the one built into Nikon’s D4 flagship camera. The new addition is an entry level D-SLR camera which caters to various demands of photo enthusiasts. The camera has a compact and lightweight design.
The D5200 incorporates swing out style Vari-angle LCD and incorporates features such as 39 focus points, auto white-balance control, Scene recognition system etc. i-TTL balanced fill flash is another attraction of this device. The camera also has D-Movie function and supports recording of Full HD videos.
D5200 has a special effects mode which allows users to adjust special effects while performing video recording. This facilitates recording of movies and capturing of still images which combine superior definition offered by the high pixel count with different choices of expression. The camera also supports a wide range of standard sensitivities.
ISO range stands at 100-6400. Higher settings are available which offer ISO up to 25600. The device will be available in 3 variants of colors which include red, bronze and black. The Rs. 46,950 price tag covers the D5200 body and AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR Kit Lens. The device will be up for purchase in India from December 2012 onwards.
Nikon India Managing Director, Hiroshi Takashina informed that the new announcement is a testimony to Nikon’s leadership in the D-SLR category. He added that the new device has been designed to deliver excellent performance to users. He also mentioned that the device has all the capabilities of higher end models from Nikon.
