Sony launches NEX-EA50EH Camcorder: Top Features Explained

Sony has announced the release of its latest professional camcorder in the market – the new NEX-EA50EH – successor of the popular NXCAM camcorder series.

The camcorder has in-store an interchangeable E-mount lens system capable of providing greater flexibility when it comes to the selection of lens. Moreover, it houses features such as auto focus, auto exposure and stabilization. The product is designed to provide utmost comfort for its users, to easily switch between the hand-held and the shoulder mode settings.

Bill Drummond of Sony Europe reportedly said, “This all-in-one camcorder brings a new level of creativity to a wider range of professional users than ever before.”

HD CMOS Sensor

Sony NEX-EA50EH has a complete HD movies and photos feature with the presence of large format Exmor APS HD CMOS Sensor. The sensor is designed to capture movie images in low noise and a higher level of sensitivity in low light conditions.

Image capturing capabilities

Sony NEX-EA50EH camcorder is designed to capture both still and moving images with same ease and comfort. Still pictures can be shot using a built-in mechanical shutter in Sony NEX-EA50EH camcorder. Moving images free from shaking can be captured with the help of Optical Steady Shot Image stabilization feature. Fast moving shots can be zoomed in for more clarity with the help of smart digital zoom function that is present in fixed focal length lenses.

Other features

The backup recording can be done at the same time while shooting using HXR-FMU128 flash memory unit. This product also features a Mirroring Memory Stick capable of delivering high reliability and data security with the help of mirroring or dual recording function.

Further, the memory card for Sony NEX-EA50EH camcorder is available in mainly three versions. It includes 16GB, 32GB and 64GB memory storage versions. Other key features included in the camcorder are 2-channel XLR Audio, Linear PCM Audio and a built-in GPS. As per reports, the camcorder is expected to be officially available for retail purchase by the month of October this year.
