With specs such as 7 inch multi-touch capacitive touchscreen display with 800 x 480 pixel resolution, Android ICS, 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage, front facing VGA camera, Wi-Fi connectivity and 3,000 mAh Li-ion battery, Aakash 2 surely has proven itself a price killer and has given sleepless nights to many budget tablet manufacturers in India including Micromax, Karbonn and others.
The availability of the device on the retail stores has still not been confirmed; however the commercial version of the tablet is available for online purchase from the company’s website.
Till the time, the availability of Aakash 2 UbiSlate 7Ci is announced, let’s check out the major five competitors that might have an edge over the Aakash 2. While, tablets like Micromax Funbook Infinity, Karbon Smart Tab 3 are already pepping good sales in the market, others like HCL My Edu tab, Bizbook and BSNL Penta tabs are also gaining momentum in the current aggressive market.
Micromax Funbook Infinity
Micromax released a low cost Android based educational tablet in its existing Funbook series – Funbook Infinity with a 7 inch capacitive touchscreen display with 800 x 480 pixel resolution. It is equipped with a 1.2GHz Cortex A8 processor, 2MP rear camera, 0.3MP front camera for video calling, 4GB internal memory, 512MB RAM and a micro SD card slot supporting expandable memory up to 32GB.

Being the dominator of the Indian tablet market, Micromax can pose a threat to the UbiSlate 7Ci tablet with its recent Funbook Infinity.
