Acer A110 spotted in the wild running on Jelly Bean; Low-Cost tablet Fight to get Fiercer

Back in Computex 2012, Acer unveiled the A110 Iconia tablet running on Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS and decent specs. However, now as a pleasant surprise to keen eyes, the same device has recently popped up online on a UK website with Jelly Bean as it operating system.

There are speculations going around about the credibility of the claim. But if it is true then Acer A110 will become the second tablet after Google Nexus 7 to support Android Jelly Bean OS. Hence

Key Specifications

Acer A110 Iconia Tablet features a 7 inch LCD Touchscreen display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. The device is extremely portable with less than 390 grams of weight. It is compact and follows a sleek design.

Acer A110 Iconia Tablet features a powerful 1.2 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor which is the world’s only processor to feature a 4-plus-1 quad core CPU. This facilitates smooth multi tasking.

The quad core CPU smoothly executes heavy load activities like video and audio editing. Longer battery life is ensured with the use of a unique fifth battery saver core. The device can be easily connected to a monitor or projector using its dual type micro HDMI port.

Additionally, Acer A110 Iconia Tablet sports a 1GB RAM along with 8 GB of internal memory. Memory can be further enhanced up to 32 GB using the expandable micro SD card slot. This is much superior when compared to Google Nexus which comes with preloaded versions of 8 and 16 GB.

The tablet comes with a full set of Google utilities including Gmail, Google+, Maps, Messenger, Play Store, Talk, YouTube etc. The power of Jelly Bean OS really unleashes the photo editing capabilities of the device.

Users can crop, rotate, adjust levels, remove red eye and add effects to pictures captured using the device. Apart from that users will also be able to add graphical transformations to videos captured using Gtalk. Using the single motion panorama feature, users can assemble continuous images into a single panoramic photo.

Security, Connectivity and Battery

Security is enhanced with face recognition to lock feature. Acer A110 Iconia Tablet can be easily connected to TV using HDMI with dual display support. Micro USB port allows smooth transfer of data to and from the device. External keyboard, mouse and game pads can also be connected to the tablet using the USB interface. The tablet also allows HD video recording at 30 fps.

A powerful 3420mAh battery which is included in the package supports up to 7.5 hours of video playback and 240 hours of standby time. The price of the device is quoted as GBP 180 which is approximately Rs. 15,800.
