Acer has had a lot of success at this year's IFA that's being held in Berlin. The company has already seen a lot of success with announcements related to a host of new devices. And going forward, the company has pulled the veils off four new Windows 8.1 convertible devices.
The company, taking the center-stage at this year's IFA, launched as many as four new convertible devices powered by Windows 8.1. These are namely: Acer Aspire R13, Aspire R14, Aspire Switch 10 and Aspire Switch 11.
As far as specs go, the Aspire R13 comes with a 13.3-inch IPS touch display that even offers two different screen types. These include Quad-HD 2560x1440 pixels or 1920x1080 pixels, but all that with Zero Air Gap Technology. It also offers an Acer Active Pen.
The device's processors can be selected from a host of different Intel Core i5 and Core i7 chipsets. Acer is even offering up to 8GB of RAM options and up to 1TB SSD drives for interested users. The Aspire R13 laptop also comes with Acer's Ezel Aero hinge, enabling it to be used in six different modes.
Apart from that, the other convertible introduced in the Aspire R series is the R14. This one features a 14-inch 1366x768 pixels display with Acer offering a range of Intel Core chips for it, alongside Nvidia 820M graphics options. The storage can also be determined from a 500GB or 1TB hard drives.
The Acer Aspire Switch 10, on the other hand, comes with a 10.1-inch display in two distinct resolutions - 1280x800 pixels or 1920x1200 pixels. The device is powered by Intel Bay Trail quad-core processors, and features 2GB of RAM. This new convertible comes with 32 GB of built-in storage, with all variants of the Aspire Switch 10 anyway set to come with free one-year subscription of Microsoft Office 365 Personal.
Lastly, the Aspire Switch 11 (model SW5-171) offers an 11.6-inch full-HD display, compared to the Aspire Switch 11 (model SW5-111) that features an 11.6-inch 1366x768 pixels display instead. The Aspire Switch 11 (SW5-171) offers Intel's Core i5 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 128GB SATA hard drive.
The Aspire Switch 11 (SW5-111), however, features an Intel Atom Z3745 quad-core processor coupled with 2GB RAM and a 64GB eMMC bit of storage.
Acer has said that Aspire R13 and Aspire R14 will be available starting this October at $899 (around Rs. 54,000) and $599 (around Rs. 30,000) respectively. On the other hand, Aspire Switch 10 series will be available from September in Pan America with pricing starting at $329.99 (around Rs.19,000) and will follow the EMEA countries starting at EUR 329 (around Rs. 26,000).
