Android 4.2 Jelly Bean Confirmed for All Asus Transformer Tablets
Asus is reportedly working on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update for its Transformer tablet series. The report was first published by Dutch website AndroidPlanet. However the company has not given any details regarding the time period for the update to roll out. Google Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system is designed specifically for the tablets. It is also expected to bring a huge number of features and improvements. The most notable feature would be the ‘Multiple User Accounts’.
This new feature allows users to create more than one user account with each user having separate home screen followed by widgets, apps, background and games. It has to be taken note that the more the user accounts, the less the space per user would be. It is only recently that Asus pushed Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update for Transformer Prime TF201 tablet. The company has claimed other two tablets in the Transformer series including Transformer Infinity TF300 and Transformer Infinity TF700 to be also getting Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update. Sources close to Asus have revealed Wi-Fi only tablets to be the first in getting the updates followed by Wi-Fi + 3G tablets.
Asus Transformer Android series are among the most popular and advanced Android tablets in the international tablet market. Asus is increasingly trying to cash in on the emerging tablet market. The company however faces stiff competition from segment leaders such as Apple iPad and Samsung Galaxy Tab.
There are also other low cost tablet manufacturers possessing greater challenge for its tablet devices. However, reportedly, Asus believes its latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update will help them boost the sales of its Transformer range of tablet products. Users will have to eagerly wait and watch whether the company rolls out its latest tablet specific Jelly Bean update for its devices somewhere before the end of this quarter.
