Apple iPads Weekend Sales Record: 3 Million Units Already Sold in 3 Days

Apple has confirmed record sales for its newly launched iPad models, iPad Mini and the fourth generation iPad. As per the sources it was a new weekend sales for the company as the company officials informed that they sold 3 million iPad units within 3 days of the launch of the new 7.9 inch iPad Mini. iPad Mini sales even exceeded the initial supply delaying the delivery of the device to some of the users. 

Apple CEO, Tim Cook was excited about these sales figures and commented "Customers around the world love the new iPad mini and fourth-generation iPad". The company had launched these new iPad models in around 34 countries on Friday with Wi-Fi connectivity. 

Tim also mentioned that they would soon roll out these iPad models with more connectivity options soon. Though Apple had positioned and priced this model to be slightly at premium when compared to other 7 inch models, their successful sales record reflects the fact that its design and functional richness has been appreciated by users. 

The positive sentiment over this record sale seems to have made an impact on the stock prices too. Apple’s share price rose 1.5 percent to hit the $585.78 mark. The company and analysts are also optimistic that Apple can achieve the set milestone of 6.5 million iPad Mini sales for this quarter looking at their initial sales figures. Apple is optimistic that they will be able to make better sales in the coming days due to the holiday season, introduction of iPad models with more connectivity options as well as launch in new countries including China.
