Asus has plans to launch a new tablet named the Eee pad MeMo. The tablet will be android based and will contain all the basic tablet functionalities. Probably this tablet will be launched in the beginning of next year.
Features of Asus EEE Pad MeMo:
- 3 dimensional display
- Bluetooth controller
- Android 4.0 Ice-cream Sandwich
- NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor
The new tablet is made in an elegant yet compact design. Since it is a 7 inch tablet it will be very easy to carry it around. The device wont weigh much either. One amazing thing with the tablet is that it is said to feature 3 dimensional display. If that is so then it will be really interesting to watch movies and other pictures in it. The touch interface can be controlled via stylus. Many of these features are said to change but there are no confirmed news about it.
One other notable feature in the tablet in Eee pad MeMo is the addition of a MeMic Bluetooth companion. It is basically a Bluetooth controller that can be used to make calls, listen to music or act as a simple remote control. The MeMic itself looks like a mobile phone with its own display screen and interface. It is a very thoughtful and welcome addition to the pad. So while at office or home this portable device can be used to make calls as well to hear music instead of carrying the whole tablet around. The design and manufacture of MeMic is considered as one of the main reasons for the launching of the tablet. Since the speculations of this new tablet have been around the tech world for so long now, the tablet will be offered through carriers only other than the conventional method of shipping them to local distributors. This will create further time for the users to get their hands on this new gadget.
Asus Eee pad MeMo is said to feature Android 4.0 Ice-cream Sandwich version. This is a doubtful case since the android team is now working to incorporate Ice-cream Sandwich in Transformer Prime. So this operating system may come as a firmware update later on in period of time. It is also rumoured that the tablet will have a NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor.
There is no word on the price of the tablet too. Since the tablet market is filled with lots of options the pricing can be expected to be very competitive. It may come to a store near you probably by January 2012.
