The device is packed with everything and anything one would expect from a typical Alienware device. It is buried in; at least it looks like, a brief case kind of box. It is divided to two segments. One houses the device and other filled with all wires, adaptors, installation CDs and similar other things. The device doesn't have an inbuilt CD drive which is kind of weird, but the manufacturers provide the option of buying an external drive with every purchase.

The ultimate gaming machine is not a light weight, but it weighs about 2 KG which is comparatively bulky. The machine is very attractive with its hard and compact body design.

Dell AlienWare M11x is built with its 11.6 inch display, and has a resolution of 1366 X 768 which makes HD video watching in the machine an awesome experience. HD videos up to 720p are supported without much an effort. Another highlight feature of the new laptop is its Klipsh speakers giving a crystal clear sound output from the device. The sound doesn't distort while playing very high frequency music and at each level demonstrates n equally polished performance. The machine allows connecting a pair of head set to it which is again a great advantage, freeing the users from the trouble of attaching a splitter to the unit to plug in a headphone. A similar feature is included in many other Dell machines which make the laptops even more desirable.

When it comes to gaming, trouble arises. Nothing wrong with the game run since the laptop is capable of playing almost any game that has released yet or even yet to be released. What makes things weird is the cramped keyboard of the machine. The absence of the CD drive means that the gamer will have to download the image copy of the game disk or must use a digital copy of the game. The game run with a CD running in the drive is thus a thumps down here.

Another coolest feature of the new Dell Alienware M11x is its customised options that allow the buyer to choose from a variety of specifications starting from the colour of the keyboard backlit to a Wi-Fi indicator.
