Gigabyte computers have launched a device that combines the good features of all the above three devices. Booktop T1132N. The device can be considered as a hybrid between a desktop PC, tablet and a notebook and hence the name Booktop.
Gigabyte has been producing these computers for quite some years now and there main market is Asia. This product range has been able to achieve a good sales figure and because of that company is offering 4 different models for the Booktop.
Gigabyte T1132N Booktop feels very strong and sturdy. The chassis is slightly tapered and the device comes in two colour options, white and black. The over all design looks very professional. The dimension of the gadget is 290 mm x 220.7 mm x 27.86 ~ 40 mm (W x D x H). The device weighs in at about 1.76 Kg. The hinges are very beautifully designed and of good quality so the Booktop is definitely built for the roads.
There is a 90% full keyboard and track pad. The buttons in the track pad is at the sides and the new users may take some time to get adjusted to it.
The processor in Gigabyte T1132N Booktop is second generation Intel i5 -2467 M. This processor works in at a clock speed of about 1.66GHz and it is boosted to about 2.3GHz.The screen size is 11.6 inches. The screen is of Capacitive LED back lit type and it supports multi-touch commands.
There are two RAM slots and it can be filled with either 2GB RAM’s or 4GB RAM’s of DDR3 type and this lets the Booktop have a maximum system memory of 8GB. The chipset in the device is mobile Intel HM65 Express chipset. There are three options for hard disk. The users can opt for the 320,500 or 750GB SATA hard disk that revolves at 5400RPM, according to his need.
The graphics processor in it is Intel HD graphics 3000. There is also an additional discrete graphics card that is NVIDIA GeForce GT 520M and it supports NVIDIA Optimus technology. The graphics memory is 1GB.
Gigabyte T1132N Booktop has integrated speakers including 2 woofer speakers. The 1.3 mega pixel web camera and the built in microphone lets you make video calls without the hassles of connecting any other external devices.
There are a variety of connecting ports including USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports along with card reader and a HDMI out port. One notable thing is that this small device packs in a 6- cell Lithium – ion battery that gives it an impressive battery life.
Gigabyte T1132N Booktop price has not been yet announced in India but it is expected to be reasonable.
