HP launching new HP Folio 13-1008tu Ultrabook
HP is a firm with great reputation for manufacturing computers of great quality, and succeeding in the sales, even when a lot of other companies make computers that can rival or may surpass those from HP. HP is trusted by a huge number of people, who also discusses in forums in the Internet about HP’s new products. One of the coolest new products which HP has manufactured and launched recently is the HP Folio 13-1008tu Ultrabook.
HP Folio 13-1008tu should have been christened with a simpler name, which is much easy to say than the present one. It is a mid-level Ultrabook, for it equips a second generation low voltage Intel Core i5 processor which runs along with just 4 GB of RAM. The specs aren’t very impressive when you take into account that there are a number of Ultrabooks which equips more powerful processors and higher RAM capacity.
HP Folio 13-1008tu specifications and features:
- 1.6 GHz Intel Core second Gen processor with 4 GB RAM
- Intel HD Graphics
- Windows 7 Home Premium Operating System
- 128 GB Solid state drive
- 13.3 inch BrightView LED Gloss screen with 1366 x 768 pixels resolution
- Built-in Altec Lansing speakers
- 18 mm thickness and 1.5 Kg weight offers easy portability
- Gigabit Ethernet Port
- HDMI port
- USB 3.0/2.0 Port
- 802.11 b/g/n WiFi connectivity
- Superb build quality with a finish giving you a smooth rubberized feeling on touch
- Stylish design, with catchy metal backed display
- Exceptionally smooth touchpad
Disadvantages:
- Very low storage memory
- Less number of USB ports
- Low GPU memory
Folio 13-1008tu isn’t a high end Ultrabook, but with its processor and 4 GB DDR3 RAM, it gives impressive performance and can get through quite strenuous amount of work load. It isn’t very fast, but not too slow either. It will get the work done satisfyingly. It comes under the Folio 13 series, and one of the first things which you will notice in 13-1008tu is its awesome speed for booting up. It boots pretty fast, thanks to the 128 GB Solid state drive. But disappointingly, this solid state drive is the only thing this Ultrabook has for storage memory.
The Graphics processing unit is the integrated Intel HD Graphics 3000 graphics accelerator card, which is not a high end one. You might be able to play a few new games at the lowest settings. Build quality is something HP stands for. You can see it in this Ultrabook. HP Folio 13-1008tu Ultrabook is priced little more than Rs 75,000/- approximately in India, but might go down pretty soon.
