iPad 2S likely to be launched soon

The rumours about the new iPad have been flooding the internet for more than 6 months as of now. Many claims have been made and speculations are also rife. Some sites have even leaked alleged images of the new device.

The first leak that came into the tech world was that iPad 2S will sport a quad core A6 processor. Many specs of the device centered on this claim have also been posted in the web by different sites.

The next news was that the tablet will have LTE capabilities. The presence of LTE network was confirmed by certain sources after a period of time. Some sources even claim that they have got prototypes of the new i Device. This claim cannot be completely over ruled since Apple is known to give away proto types to different reviewers and application developer. These sources who claim to have iPad 2S prototype have published information from the debugging software i Boot. This information claims that the iPad 2S will in fact have a quad core processor as well as a global radio. The information in the images leaked by these sources is not enough to confirm the presence of an A6 processor according to some tech reviewers. But the presence of radio is accepted and the word is that it will be a World radio and will incorporate features as in the GSM, CDMA and LTE network.

The latest controversy is that the number scheme in the claimed A6 CPU model does not ring any bells. There is no mention of a quad core A6 CPU in the images and only the model number, **45X, is available. If we consider the previous model numbers, a single A4 processor has model number **30X, where as a dual core A5 processor has model number **40X. So the **45X might not be referring to a quad-core processor but to an improved dual core A5 processor. As if adding oil to the flame one other controversy is the devices model number. It is given as iPad3. This does not mean that it is iPad 3 but points to the fact that it is a 3rd generation iPad, so it could be iPad 2S.
