Karbonn Titanium X: 5 Inch FHD Smartphone With NFC Coming Soon To Take On Micromax Canvas Turbo A250

Domestic tech vendor Karbonn Mobile will chase Micromax by announcing its first ever Full HD smartphone sometime next week. The Karbonn Titanium X has been spotted on company's official website with detailed features and specifications.

Last month India's second most popular smartphone vendor Micromax released the Canvas Turbo A250, a 5-inch Full HD 1080 display smartphone at Rs. 19,990. Local vendors Karbonn, Micromax, iBerry, Zen Mobiles, Spice Mobility, will give tough challenge to Samsung and Sony in the affordable Full HD smartphone segment. International tech vendors Samsung, Sony, HTC, Lenovo, are already selling their respective FHD handsets at a premium price point.

Karbonn Mobiles is the latest entrant in the affordable FHD smartphone segment. Karbonn's last big ticket handset - the Titanium S9, failed to make a mark in the Indian handset market. The Titanium X will pack a 5-inch IPS display having a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It will be powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor. The exact specs around RAM and internal memory, is yet to be cracked. Android 4.2 Jelly Bean comes out of the box.

The phone will have a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with dual LED Flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The device will also have NFC and a 2300mAh battery. Other connectivity features include: Wi-Fi, A-GPS, NFC, 3G, FM Radio and 3.5mm headphone connectivity. The handset would have Dual SIM facility, but right now nothing much is known about the device except selected specifications.

What is NFC?

As mentioned above, the device houses an NFC (Near field communication) chipset, which would make it different from competing handsets. NFC is a standard for devices. It basically allows devices to share data from one device to another, just by touching them. Right now the potential of NFC is huge, but as of now its applicability is limited.

Release date and expected price

Micromax Canvas Turbo A250

The Titanium X features a 5-inch IPS FHD display having a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It comes with a 1.5GHz processor powered by MediaTek (MT6589T), 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (non-expandable).Android 4.2 Jelly Bean comes out of the box.

The makers have added a 2000mAh Li Ion battery with 7 hours of talk time promised. There's a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with Auto Focus and LED Flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The Canvas Turbo A250 also offers an array of connectivity options: Bluetooth 4.0, 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, GSM, Dual SIM, Micro USB, 3.5mm headphone jack and much more. It is now available in two color options: Midnight Blue and Pristine White.

Gionee Elife E6

The Elife E6 offers a razr sharp 5-inch Full HD IPS display having a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels at 441ppi pixel density. Android 4.2 Jelly Bean comes out of the box with OS Amigo User Interface on the top. It is powered by a quad-core Mediatek MT6589T processor clocked to 1.5 GHz and 2 GB RAM. There's a 13MP rear camera with f2.2 wide angle lens and BSI sensor and LED flash. It also houses a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter with 28mm wide angle lens. Other connectivity features include: 3G, Wi-Fi 802Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS and more. The makers have added a 2020mAh battery.

Zen Ultrafone Amaze 701FHD

The Ultrafone Amaze 701 FHD comes with a 5-inch full HD IPS display having a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It is powered by 1.5 GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM (expandable up to 64GB via a microSD card slot). Android Jelly Bean 4.2 comes out of the box. There's a 13MP rear-facing camera with Auto Focus and LED Flash. Also add an 8MP front-facing camera on the front. This Dual SIM phone packs a 2050mAh battery fitted inside. Other connectivity options are pretty much standard.

Lenovo K900

The Lenovo K900 comes with a 5.5-inch IPS display having resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels at 400ppi. It is powered by a 2GHz dual-core processor powered by Intel Atom Z2580 chipset coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB ROM (non-expandable). Android 4.2 Jelly Bean comes out of the box with Lenovo's own home backed UI on the top. There's a 13MP rear facing camera with Auto Focus, Dual LED Flash Light and F/1.8 lens on the board. Also add a 2MP camera on the front. The makers have added a 2,500mAh Li Ion non-removable battery. Other highlighted specifications include: 3G, Wi-Fi, 2G, Bluetooth 3.0, and A-GPS, among others.

Spice Pinnacle FHD Mi-525

The device packs a 5.0-inch display having resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It comes with a 16.7 M colors and video recording at 1080p (30fps). It is is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core coupled with 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal memory ( expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card). Android 4.2 Jelly Bean comes out of the box. There's an 8MP rear facing camera with Auto Focus and dual LED Flash light. Also add a 2MP front facing camera. The makers have added a 2100mAh Li Ion battery. Other connectivity options include: Dual SIM, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and gesture based features.
