Lenovo is grabbing up on the popularity of Windows 8 which is now the center of attraction in the tech media world. The Chinese vendor is planning to release a range of products in the Windows 8 platform for getting a major share of the product sales on the latest platform, the most important being Lenovo IdeaTab Lynx.
Lenovo IdeaTab Lynx is a laptop/tablet hybrid running on Windows 8 and is expected to go on sales from December onwards. The device is reportedly informed to be made available at a price tag of $600 (approximately Rs.33,000) for preorder in various online stores within the US and Canada.
Lenovo IdeaTab Lynx – What Features to Expect?
The major attraction of Lenovo IdeaTab Lynx is going to be its screen display size of 11.6 inches that has been designed specifically for main stream consumers. The company promises better performances with its dual-core Clovertrail-based Atom processor along with a powerful 2GB RAM. It is the first Windows 8 tablet to feature the latest dual-core Intel Atom processor. Users can interact with application of Windows 8 with ease using the multi-touch screen even while on the move.
Users will have the option of choosing either 32GB or 64GB solid storage depending up on how often they use this product and the purposes for which it is being used. The device also arrives with a detachable keyboard dock allowing users to engage in a smoother and faster typing experience. The presence of built-in battery of 6,800 mAh battery configuration is capable of doubling the battery capacity from eight hours to 16 hours.
The keyboard dock with its 1.45 pound weight works quite similar to that of any notebooks. Cinema quality sound is provided using the Dolby Home Theatre. The full size USB port allows the device to be connected with ease to printers and hard drives.
Lenovo IdeaTab Lynx hybrid tablet weighs just around 1.4 pounds making it an easily affordable tablet for users while on the go. The device measures 9.45mm thickness. The most notable feature is its larger screen display size of 11.6 inches designed to provide enhanced display and movie playing in high definition. The IPS display allows better movie watching experience even from odd angles.
The micro-HDMI ports ensure better video output for customers. Additional data can be included in the device using MicroSD card slot. Users can get engaged in occasional video conferencing or chatting using the 2 mega pixel webcam. However the keyboard dock will contain an addition two USB 2.0 ports. The keyboard dock is expected to cost an additional $150 (Rs.8,500) in addition to the retail price of the hybrid product.
