Lenovo Unveils S300, S400 and S405 Laptops With Windows 8
With arrival of Windows 8 around the corner, Chinese electronics giant Lenovo has unveiled three ultra new laptops making up its S series range of laptops. The three laptops on the table are Lenovo S300, S400 and S405. All the three devices come loaded with Windows 7 Home professional operating system which can be upgraded to Windows 8 upon its release on October 29.Inorder to cope up with the demands of Windows 8; Lenovo has also upgraded the touchpad in the S series laptops.
Convenient features
Lenovo S300, S400 and S405 have similar dimensions and the exterior is also not much different. The devices have a thickness of 21.9mm and weigh only a mere 1.8 kg. The major difference between the devices arrives in the processor used and in the hard drive storage capacities. Lenovo S300 and Lenovo S400 will make use of a third generation i3 or i5 Intel processor. Lenovo S405 will be using a powerful A8 quad-core APU from AMD. Both S300 and S400 will have internal storage capacity of 500 GB whereas S405 will have an internal storage capacity of 1 TB.
Utilities
All the three devices are made to be extremely portable and eye candy. Lenovo offers a wide range of colours and patterns to choose from for embellishing the cover of the laptops. Quickstart app present in these devices allows users to access a range of programs without having to wait for Windows to boot. Using the DirectShare utility, users will be able to sync files with a PC or laptop without connecting to the web. An Energy management tool is included as part of the package which extends the time for charging the battery again.
Colours and Pricing
Lenovo S300, S400 and S405 are available in three colour formats including red, silver and pink. Although we don’t have enough information on the exact prices, the devices are expected to be available from £349 (approximately Rs. 30,685) onwards.
