Mercury launching new Android tablet

Mercury, a renowned brand for manufacturing computer peripherals is all set to launch their new smart tablet in the market. The Android tablet from mercury is scheduled to be unveiled somewhere around march. The 7 inch tablet features an Android version 2.3 Ginger Bread and it is equipped with a powerful 1 GHz processor too.

Sushmita Das, the country manager for Mercury in India, announced that the tablet which will be launched in the Indian markets this March will be based on the Samsung chipset and the device with a 1 GHz processor and an Android 2.3 operating system will also have an inbuilt memory of 8GB.

The seven inch tablet is said to be a 3G compatible enabled with the complete 3G features. A promise from the manufacturers that the system will be able to be updated to an Android v4.0 at a later time was also conveyed at the event. The event was concluded with the assurance that the tablet with its high end features and utilities will be definitely an affordable one.

According to some internal review reports made on the yet to be launched tablet says that the tablet has an integrated WiFi router that is capable of connecting up to a six devices. Even though WiFi routers and WiFi hot spots are present in almost all tablets and smart phones, the company claims that the one in their device is the best in the business.

The tablet with its DDR3 based memory is really fast in its processing skills and it offers a better performance while working by providing faster responses even for online applications.

At the event, a hint on a 10 inch tablet that mercury plans to release in April was also given. No further details was provided by the representative of Mercury but said the device will be loaded with some high end utilities that will bring some edge technology to the customer reach.

However, the new 7 inch tablet specification is out and going through them clearly reveals the tablet to be a good competitor in the trade. The company is now concentrating on the marketing of the tablet by developing plans that will assure the tablet’s availability to a larger group of customers within the country itself. It will be organizing campaigns and other activities to make the presence strong in the market.

The details on the price of the tablet were not disclosed at the event, but with the officials promising it to be affordable.
