Microsoft Prepping 7 Inch Windows Phone 8 and 8.4 Inch Windows RT Tablet to Rival Nexus 7 and iPad Mini
Microsoft the software giant has entered the hardware market with the launch of Surface tablet in June and is rumored to be working on a Surface smartphone as well. Moreover, Steve Ballmer the CEO of Microsoft announced that the company has plans to launch multiple devices with the Microsoft logo in the coming years.
Recently, there was a rumor making rounds on the internet regarding a 7 inch gaming tablet with 720p HD display dubbed as Xbox Surface. But, now more devices add on to the rumored list of Microsoft products.

According to a tweet made by MS_Nerd, Microsoft is prepping devices to increase the display size of Windows Phone 8 and to scale down that of Windows RT.
The tweet reads, “ZTE Blade 8: WP8 counts 3 pixels as 2. MSFT adding stylus support in OneNote, IE & Reader. Figuring out how to reach 7″ size with WP or RT. Another project with select members of Surface & Nook teams, using RT on a 8.4″ screen exploring it from the other side, no stylus yet.”
This tweet hints that the software giant is working on a bigger smartphone the Windows Phone 8 OS, which could boast a 7 inch display making it in close proximity to the mini tablets.
Also, there could be a mini Surface tablet in the pipeline with a screen size of 8.4 inch. Further, many sources familiar with the subject are claiming that Microsoft is finding new ways to expand its Surface tablet lineup with a smaller offspring.

Tablets to Rival Nexus 7 and iPad Mini
If the rumors turn out true, Microsoft could be aiming at Android 4.1 Jelly Bean based Google Nexus 7 with a 7 inch display and iOS 6 based Apple iPad Mini with the two new devices that will fit in the similar category.
Google Nexus 7 sports a 7 inch 10 point multi-touch IPS display with 1280 x 800 resolution, quad core 1.2GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS (upgradeable to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean), 1GB RAM, 16GB/32GB internal storage, 1.2MP front camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, 4,325 mAh battery and NFC connectivity.
Based on iOS 6, iPad Mini has a packs a 7.9 inch LED-backlit IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display with 1024 x 768 pixel resolution, 1GHz dual core Apple A5 processor, PowerVR GPU, 5MP iSight rear camera, 1.2MP front camera for video calling, 16GB/32GB/64GB internal storage, 512MB RAM, Lightning port, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a 16.3 Whr Li-Po battery delivering up to 10 hours backup.
With 7 inch and 8.4 inch tablets in the pipeline, Microsoft seems to be in full swing to enter into the flooded tablet market and compete with the market dominators.
