Motorola Droid Xyboard Tablets available for purchase online
Motorola launched two new tablets last month and those where the first tablets to get the Droid branding. The models are Motorola Droid XYboard 8.2 and Motorola Droid XYboard 10.1. This is the second series of tablets launched by Motorola that run on Android operating system, the first being Motorola Xoom series. The details of the device and its specs where put up in Motorola’s site immediately after their introduction itself.
Many of the customers have pre ordered there device and days before, the customers has received a mail from Motorola saying that the tablets have been shipped. These tablets can be bought now directly from Motorola’s website with free 2 days shipping feature. The models that are currently available are the Wi-Fi only versions.
These tablets are available in the 16 GB as well as the 32 GB versions. Droid XYboard 10.1’s 16 GB version comes with a price tag of around Rs.25,000/- and the 32 GB version costs around Rs.30,000/-. Droid XYboard 8.2’s 16 GB version has a price tag of around Rs.20,000/- and Rs. 25,000/- for the 32 GB variant.
These tablets feature a very slim and compact design. The sides of the device are tapered and the corners are rounded off. The tablet comes in whole black colour scheme that lends it a professional yet beautiful look. The tablet is coated with a water repellent nano covering and this protects the device from rain or spills. So you need to wipe of the liquid when you spill something on it.
The display of the tablet is high definition in type. Both the displays have a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. The screen is covered with Gorilla glass so that small scratches and bumps won’t affect it. The tablets have dual cameras. The main camera has 5 mega pixel resolutions and can take pictures with HD clarity. It can record videos too. The secondary camera which is meant for video calling has a resolution of 1.3 mega pixels and is situated at the front side.
The tablets are powered by Android 3.2 Honey comb operating system. Both of them are Wi-Fi enabled devices so very high data speeds are guaranteed which results in fast internet browsing and download speeds. The processor inside them is TI OMAP 4430 1.2 GHz dual core processor and the tablets have 1 GB of RAM. There are lots of other connectivity options available including Bluetooth and USB. GPS support is also provided in the device.
