Today there are numerous manufacturers coming out with Tablet PC's in all price ranges and suited for all kinds of people and this rise in competition has led to prices of tablets coming down and thus the end customers are benefited in a big way.
Today we take a closer look at two of the most widely selling Tablet PC's in the market now. The models are Motorola Xoom and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.
The devices both feature a 10.1 inch full touch screen based display that is capacitive in nature and also boasts of several features.
Galaxy Tab 10.1 runs the 3.1 version of Android OS whereas Xoom runs the 3.0 version and as such the interface of the Galaxy is slightly better as compared to the Xoom.
On the entertainment and multimedia specs both the new Tablet pcs do not disappoint in any sense as they provide users with the best in music and video playback. the Tablets can play music in formats such as MP3, WAV, and video in formats such as MP4, AVI, 3GP, VOB.
The processors on either of the new Tablet pcs are high on speed and provide excellent graphical support. Both of them have the NVIDIA Tegra processor inside them with 1GB of RAM to deliver smooth and easy functionality.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Motorola Xoom provide a lot of communication and network technology support like 3G, GPRS, EDGE and many more but the Xoom is capable of supporting 4G technology with minor hardware upgrades required whereas the Galaxy cannot do so. On the memory options Galaxy Tab 10.1 is available with 16, 32 and 64 GB variants but does not have an external memory card slot which is present in the Motorola Xoom.
Both The Tablets have Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity options along with USB slots for PC connectivity. Motorola Xoom however has an HDMI out which is lacking in the Galaxy Tab 10.1.
The extra features in Motorola Xoom does make it more costly as it retails for around Rs 35500 whereas Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 costs only around Rs 29000.
