MTS Android Tablet Coming Soon
President and Chief Executive Officer of MTS India, Mr. Vsevolod Rozanov has made it public that MTS will be launching their new Android tablet by the end of this year. He didn't respond to questions about specifications probably intending to keep it suspense but assured that the tablet will be launched taking into account the Price sensitive customers. There are a lot of GSM tablets in the market. But the MTS Android Tablet will support CDMA. A few months ago, probably building a foundation for the tablet, MTS released 2 Android based mobile handsets; MTS MTAG 3.1 manufactured by Huawei and MTS Livewire manufactured by ZTE both priced under Rs 5000/-.
Both these handsets run with a Snapdragon S1 processor. So speculations are there that the tablet will have the same processor too. MTS gained wide appreciation because of their idea of bundling their network with CDMA Android Smartphones, the HTC Pulse being the most popular and successful among. Apparently, MTS requires attention to its network, which it achieved, so that it can use the power of Android, combine it with their network and successfully establish their potential. It's reckoned that the tablet from MTS will share specifications of its Android smart phones. There is a relief that the MTS Android tablet will be supporting an extremely vast array of applications, thanks to the Android OS.
Hopefully there would be a nice display, a good camera and great speakers in the MTS Android Tablet. But what would really be a relief is if the tablet features HD video recording and 3G/WiFi connectivity. Huawei or ZTE is likely to manufacture the tablet as they are good in the CDMA sector. Besides, MTS might pack some cool offers with the MTS Android Tablet as well as it had done with the HTC Pulse - Free SMSs, free calls, free data usage etc. If at all, the tablet possesses all these features, then it's definitely going to be revolutionary as MTS has already announced that it's going to be really affordable.
These kinds of new tablets are what India needs now and MTS knows it. So let's see if their strategy works out good. All we can do is hope that the MTS Android tablet will be up to the mark and satisfy those who buy it. We will know for sure by the end of this year anyways. So let's just keep our fingers crossed for now.
