AT&T’s Developer Conference which was held at the CES had something very exciting to show the world. It’s very rare to get a look at a tablet that is unaffected even after being immersed in water for some time. Here we are dealing with the latest Android 3.2 Honeycomb powered tablet, the Pantech element.
Pantech offers a very special feature that makes it stand out from the rest of the tablets in the markets, which is its water proof design. Inside features are normal with its documentation, a microUSB cable, and also a wall charger.
Of course the tablet is water proof but it doesn’t mean that it’s made for it. The manufacturers have put forward some conditions that explain its so called water proof feature.
Malfunction, according to the manufacturers can occur if water is entering at any angle at a mentioned and for a given time. If the tablet gets dipped in water for more than 30 minutes at a depth of 1 meter, it surely will affect the unit very badly.
Pantech Element is IP57 rated. This means it can survive without any problem if it’s dipped in water for 30 minutes meter even at 1 meter depth. So it will be ok if you accidently dropped it into the deepest portion of a swimming pool. But anything deeper than that, just forget your tablet. This kind of safety assurance Pantech element gives is really rare to be found with any other device.
Exploring the tablet one will find that it has got some real cool features like,
- An 8 inch touch screen display; a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels
- A heavy power Qualcomm Snapdragon processor
- 4G enabled
- 1GB RAM for fluid functionality
- Li-on standard 6,400 mAh battery
- A rear camera with 5 mp and built in flash feature
- 2 mp front-facing camera; supports video calling
- Provision for Micro HDMI port
- GPS facility embedded
- Bluetooth v 2.1
- Wi-Fi supported
The tablet thus provides its user with some great advantages and friendly benefits. For a tablet device, it’s heavily loaded and made feature rich. The features that can be found in all the best selling tablets can be found here too in addition to its own unique water proof feature. The tablet is said to be made available in the markets with a tagged price of somewhere in the range of Rs 25,000/-.
