Google is holding a press conference on July 24 in New York City and rumors say that the software giant will finally unleash improved Nexus 7 featuring Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. The next-gen Nexus 7 was spotted several times before, even at Google I/0 2013.
Recently, an alleged picture of improved Nexus 7 went viral on the World Wide Web. Clearly, Google is planning to launch next-generation Nexus 7 in the coming weeks.
Now Engadget has got its hands on the internal specifications of Nexus 7 2 via leaked memo. It is said that the tablet will hit US market next week. According to an updated news on Engadget, the next-gen Nexus 7 is expected to go on sale around July 31.
The Nexus 7 2 will be available in 32GB version. It is not known whether Google is making 16GB variant or not. The tablet could be priced $269 (Rs. 15, 977) in the retail market. As per leaked information, the Nexus 7 will be powered by Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. The screen size remains same at 7-inches; however, we could see an improvement in the resolution.
The processor is also beefed up; the above picture mentions about a 1.5GHz quad-core processor. The original Nexus 7 comes with Nvidia powered Tegra 3 processor. It is also being said that the new Nexus 7 may come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor.
Another interesting highlight of Nexus 7 2 will be the coming of two cameras. A 5-mega pixel rear facing camera on the rear and 1.2-mega pixel camera on the front is what can sense from the leaked picture. There's also mention of wireless charging facility and slim port for playing Full HD videos on Super sized T.V.
On July 1, GizBot had informed you that how an employee of Asus revealed detailed specifications of next-gen Nexus 7. According to conversation, the Nexus 7 2 will have a 7-inch display having resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.
The tablet will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 600/S4 Pro APQ8064 processor coupled with a 2GB RAM. Internal memory stands at 32GB. There was a mention of two cameras - on the front and other on the back.
Other connectivity features include: Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, LTE connectivity and a 4,000mAh battery. As reported many a time, the improved Nexus 7 will be powered by Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
