Packard Bell Liberty Tablet
Packard Bell launched Liberty Tab G100 at the IFA 2011. The first impression that comes to mind if you get hold of the G100 is its heavy and bulky. At 760gms it is heavier than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 that weighs just 545gms and the Apple iPad2 that weighs 613gms.
The bulkiness of Packard Bell Liberty tablet could make it uncomfortable for users to hold for a long time. It also goes against the trend of slender tablets with light form factor that seems to be what everyone is looking for. Strange that Packard Bell overlooked this, but that doesn’t take anything away from the otherwise brilliantly-featured Liberty Tab G100.
Available in Glossy Red Wine, Royal Black or Dynamic White colors, this Packard Bell Liberty tablet has the vital ports – HDMI, mini USB, micro SD and headphone jack - appropriately placed around the tablet. The G100 has a 10.1 inch 1280x800 pixel resolution HD touchscreen LCD and is loaded with Android Honeycomb 3.0 operating system. This is quite a high performance tab as it is powered by the Tegra 2 dual core processor.
The HD experience is a truly welcome feature as it enables HD video viewing and HD gaming. The LCD screen features 10 sensor inputs that provide superior clarity and contrast. You’d just want to keep looking at the screen! It makes the web browsing experience truly enjoyable. For a superior listening experience, the G100 also features Dolby mobile sound.
Liberty Tab G100 comes with a 5 megapixel camera facing the rear and a 2 megapixel front facing camera. The latter is for videoconferencing, video calling and video chat. The Google Talk app is pre-installed. The rear facing camera supports auto-focus and features LED flash for efficient shooting in all conditions. The really exciting bit is the tablet’s video capabilities. It enables 720p HD video capture. It’s no ordinary shooting as you have the option of capturing videos in TouTube format so you can easily upload your favorite moments on the web in HD! This enables casual as well as professional video taking.
Packard Bell has equipped Liberty Tab G100 with a 6520 mAh Li-polymer battery that ensures users can work, browse or have fun with it for 10 hours non-stop. Overall, Packard Bell Liberty Tab is a great product, but the weight and bulkiness could affect user experience.
The price in India of the Packard Bell Liberty Tablet G100 is 350 pounds for the 16GB version which when converted to Indian currency would be around Rs. 27,000, if launched in India.
