In the first week of October, a report from CNet suggested that according to an analyst at NPD DisplaySearch, a 13-inch MacBook Pro with a Retina display is on track for production.
The report cited DisplaySearch analyst Richard Shim, he predicted that a 13.3-inch Retina version of the MacBook Pro (MBP) is slated for production in the fourth quarter. However, at that time, what was not clear was the release date of the next MacBook by the Cupertino giant.
Although, Shim speculated that it would happen sometime around iPad Mini announcement. Well, all of it now seems to be falling into place, as images of what it appears to be Apple’s Macbook Pro having 13-inch screen with retina display has been leaked by a Chinese website recently.
The website named Weiphone has mainly displayed the internal components and ports of the yet to be released Macbook device. The comparatively smaller images displayed the connection ports placed on the left and right sides of the device. Another image revealed the screen display running on Windows 7 operating system.
Apple has so far has not commented on this latest development, however, sources suggest that Apple will be releasing 13-inch Macbook Pro with retina display during the October 23 event along with highly anticipated iPad Mini.
The leaked images in the website also showcased MagSafe 2 port and two thunderbolt ports. The device seems to have a separate slot for two USB ports for ensuring speedy data transfer. In addition to a HDMI port, there is also an SD card reader for data input and transfer. The images and report hint at 13-inch Macbook Pro with retina display to have a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels and having 8GB Elpida RAM along with a battery cell layout.
The 13-inch MBP Retina is also expected to be more consumer friendly, with a price tag well below $1,700 (approximately Rs. 85,000) which is almost $500 (approximately Rs. 25,000) higher than the non-retina 13-inch Macbook Pro version.
